Human Resources for Health

The WG-HRH has the ambition to be a reference group concerning Human Resources for health within the Belgian development, and to feed the reflection on this theme. The two main strategical axes of the WG-HRH are the following ones:

  1. Firstly to constitute an active pool for common reflexion, exchange of experiences and capitalisation of good (and bad) practices concerning HRH, to support in general the development policy in all its forms in Belgium. Therefore, the activities of the WG-HRH exist for instance of collecting and distributing access to the existing material on the subject, implementation and sharing of case studies, supporting the DGDC in its reflexion on the theme of migration and brain drain, supporting development organisations in the integration of HRH strengthening in the interventions, and supporting the partner countries in drawing up their policies and development plans in the field of HRH.
  2. Secondly, to reply on certain concerns from Belgian and foreign actors and to assure the follow-up of concrete cases. In this perspective, the most important activity from the WG-HRH in 2009-2010 will be the organisation of a consultation session on the WHO draft "Code of practice on the international recruitment of health personnel.
