Be-cause health seminar 2011:
"Will our generation close the gap?
Comprehensive and innovative strategies to address social determinants of health." on 15 - 16 December 2011, at
BTC, Hoogstraat 147, rue Haute, 1000 Brussels. Several presentations are now online!
During this two day seminar we intend
to present the global picture and will elaborate on the three areas
of action proposed in the WHO 2008 Report of the Commission on
Social Determinants of Health.
Cases will be presented from different levels: the local, national
and global level and we will build on the outcomes of the 1st World
Conference on Social Determinants in October in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil.
The objectives of this seminar are to raise awareness amongst the
stakeholders in international cooperation, and to clarify the
challenges we have in this crucial domain.
The seminar aims at reaching public and private stakeholders in
health development cooperation in- and outside Belgium,
political decision-makers, evaluators, and public health students
from the South.
The preparation of the seminar has provoked a lot of internal
debate. This debate has to go on and has to be opened up to a
broader audience. That's why the number of presentations has been
reduced and enough time for discussion has been preserved.
