The Global Health Watch report, first published in 2005, is known as the alternative world health report. The third edition was launched in October 2011 during a side event of the First World Conference on Social Determinants of Health in Rio, Brazil. Intal and the Belgian Platform for Action on Health and Solidarity will host the Belgian launch on December 17 at Haachtsesteenweg 53, 1210 Brussels with Amit Sengupta as the main speaker.
Amit Sengupta is a health activist with People's Health
Movement-India and the the editor of the report. The launching will
be an opportunity to discuss and share ideas on the threats and
challenges of the current crisis for the right to health.We also
want to seize this opportunity to announce the upcoming third People's
Health Assembly.

- Presentation of the Third Global Health Watch report
(background and highlights) by Amit Sengupta (PHM India) with a
focus on the challenges for the right to health in the current
economic conjuncture.
- Short reactions by representatives of social movements from the
Belgian Platform for Action on Health and Solidarity.
- Open forum and discussion on priorities and strategies to
protect and advance the right to health in times of crisis.
- Announcement of the third People's Health Assembly in July 2012
in South Africa, Cape Town.
