Health in Motion: Infectious Diseases on the Move

The Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp together with co-organizer Armauer Hansen Research Institute are pleased to announce its upcoming 66th ITM Colloquium on Infectious Diseases on the Move, from 15 to 17 November 2026, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Join us to explore how movement of people, pathogens, vectors, environments, and policies is reshaping the dynamics of infectious diseases, resilience of health systems, and the public health strategies needed to control them.

Diseases are spreading faster than ever. Cities and rising mobility create new pathways for infections, putting pressure on health systems to adapt with stronger surveillance and equitable care. Pathogens evolve quickly, causing different vulnerabilities across populations and challenging continuity of treatment, especially in fragile settings.

The ITM Colloquium brings together experts across six themes to share insights, collaborate, and strengthen public health globally. We look forward to welcoming you.

Registrations will open in May.

Call for abstracts is open! Deadline: 19 May 2026
