  • Médicins du Monde, Kruidtuinstraat / Rue Botanique 75, 1210 Bruxelles

In the fringes of the Climate March in Brussels and the Health Day at the COP 28 in Dubai, Be-cause health is organising a meet & greet with Adrian Xopan, native of the magic community Amatlán of Quetzalcoatl and currently the Deputy Director of the Mayan Ceremonial Center Muuch’xiimbal (“Walk Together” in Maya language), where they develop a self-sustaining community project, preservation of nature and traditional customs and where through cultural exchange and research of their own roots, they retake and rescued the Mayan’s way of temascal ceremony.

Adrian Xopan was raised by his grandparents within the Tlahuica nation (Nahuatl word meaning ” People of Light”) according to their tradition and initiated into the knowledge of community work, cultivation of the sacred maize plant, reading the voice of the wind on the mountain, the arts like singing and painting as ways to ” deify the heart ” (get in touch with the deity) and collective work for the achievement of the common good, towards healing and peace.

After an informal meeting including a sandwich lunch we will attend the Climate March together. Please, register by sending an e-mail to mschotte@itg.be for the sandwich lunch at the latest by 30 November.
