Yona Nestel is Senior Education Advocacy and Policy Advisor at Plan International. She is an education equity and inclusion champion and programming expert with over 15 years of experience working in global and national contexts. She specializes in gender equality in and through education and advocates for gender transformative education within the SDGs and other normative framework. In her current role she is charged with setting the policy direction for Plan International’s education work and advocating for girls to be able to learn, lead, decide and thrive. She chairs the United Nation’s Girls’ Education Steering Committee and sits on the board of the Global Campaign for Education.
