Chronic Respiratory Diseases in Africa study Enabel
18/12/2020

Please, find herewith an invitation to fill in a questionnaire on Chronic Respiratory Diseases (CRD) in Africa. The importance of this topic is explained in the introduction of the questionnaire. The questionnaire is available in English and in French.

Chronic Respiratory Diseases, a subgroup within the wider cluster of non-communicable diseases, are on the rise in low-and middle-income countries and need urgent attention, and now even more since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

At a moment where new leaders are elected in several African countries and where Belgium has a new Minister of International Development Cooperation, Enabel has taken the initiative to conduct a study on this topic. It’s necessary to better understand the context of CRD in Africa and subsequently engage in action. The experience of stakeholders active in health systems on the African continent needs to be valorised. It’s an opportunity to raise your voice and contribute to the shaping of policies related to CRD to the benefit of the population on the continent.

May I therefore request to give some of your time to respond to this questionnaire? If you have partners working on this topic, could you share this questionnaire with them as well?

Your input will be highly appreciated! Given the short time-frames in which we have to operate, you might consider returning the questionnaire in ‘instalments’ following the rhythm in which the information is or becomes available to you.

Please address questions and feedback to Valeria Campos da Silveira.

Thank you in advance and stay well,
