Seminar: Moving from intervention to system development evaluation: Analysing complex situations with systems thinking tools
29/03 - 30/11/2017

On 29 March 2017, at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp a fourth seminar was held on the following topic: “Moving from intervention to system development evaluation: Analyzing complex situations with system thinking tools.” Reality is not simple but often ‘wicked’. Find out those and many more questions you will see addressed (in French):

  • Intervention, programme ou système à évaluer?
  • Gérer le changement: Pourquoi (et quand) se centrer sur un système et pas sur une intervention?
  • Approche systémique ou recherche de l’intervention efficace?

A series of seminars on complexity are organized by the Institute of Tropical Medicine – ITM in 216 and 2017. The aim is to contribute to the debate on how to better take on board complex systems thinking and to help shift the paradigm in the field of research and evaluation in health and development. The interest for new or better methods to deal with programmes that intervene in complex situations is growing in circles of health, international aid and development (see Be-cause health working group Complexity), as well as in the field of health policy and system research.
